An excavator contractor filed a lien on the project and now my hands are tied. What do I do?

I hired a excavator contractor to do site work a septic system total approx $ 80:000:00 paid him $ 55.000.00 he has not fin the work he failed health inspection He filed a lien And by him filling the lien all of final funding can’t be released to pay the remaking subs and him I can’t get a c of o with out the final inspection on the septic approval ( he also has not fin the final grading or the final drive way What can I do

Your first step should be to have your lawyer write a letter to the contractor explaining the facts you state in your post, and see what the contractor's explanation is. If the contractor refuses, you may have to file a lawsuit to vacate the lien. A lawsuit could also give you a chance to sue the contractor for other damages you've suffered, such as the contractor defaulting on the contract.
