Am I supposed to get the full amount if my prevailing wage?

South CarolinaPrevailing Wages

Hello I currently work a construction job in Florence sc, our prevailing wage is $11 a hour we are only getting $1.90, while other companies on the job site are getting their full wage, should I be getting the full prevailing wage also?

First, note that South Carolina doesn't currently have prevailing wage laws for state and local projects. So, only federal construction projects there will require that prevailing wages be paid. With that being said, just about everyone who's performing work on a federal job site will garner prevailing wages. So, if others on the site are receiving prevailing wages, that might be a good indicator that you should be too. Before proceeding with a claim or hiring an attorney, it might be useful to discuss the matter with your employer to see whether you should be getting prevailing wages. But, consulting with a South Carolina construction attorney who's intimately familiar with prevailing wage laws might be helpful. Further, this page has a lot of great information on making a claim, if that becomes necessary: Resources for Workers.
