I just received an invoice for some labor work done by a roofing company in October of last year. They never gave me a final invoice and I was told initially the cost of the repairs would be around $700. I live in Alabama and this work was done but they left a mess in the backyard and never followed up until now(8 months later) by putting an envelope in my mailbox that doesn't even have the complete address of my home on it AND it is stating I now owe $1300. Is this legal to hear nothing for 8 months and then putting an invoice in my mailbox without my full address on it ? Am I required to pay this invoice with this new amount being that there was never a final invoice total or anythng nor a phone call after the work was completed last year.
