I am a subcontractor that works with GCs and property owners. I purchase materials from my suppliers and wanted to ask if I should be requesting lien waivers for every invoice paid or find all invoices related to a specific project and request a waiver for the total amount of materials purchased for that project? I also subcontract out the labor so the same question would apply. ...Read More

I'm a customer who has sent final payment for a construction job on my house. The contractor says "his guy" never came through with it, but our check was deposited "for deposit only" to his company. He is now threatening to put a lien on our house. Is this something he can do? Do we need an attorney? or is he just scamming us to try to get us to pay him extra?...Read More

I am a subcontractor working for Pink Energy solar company on a residential job. The company hired Restoration Pro to perform water and mold remediation at the home due to a defect in installation of solar panels. Restoration Pro arrived in December of 2021. Additional work was needed by another trade before our work could be completed. Once the other trade had been completed thier work, I had reached out to Pink Energy to confirm that Restortion Pro should resume. Last week I was told our services were no longer needed and to submit our invoice. The invoice had to be revised to reflect the work completed only, then needed to be check over by the project manager of that particular job. I was notofied by the homeowner today that the company filed for bankruptcy last week. Please advise. Thank you....Read More

We recorded the lien in the amount of 7,965 but due to the clients lack of urgency to pay us they incurred late fees on the initial invoice. This is stated on all our invoices. Since the client paid the initial portion on the lien, do we have to remove it or can we just let it expire hoping that they will cover the late fees? We do not plan to us the lien against them to pay but just hoping not removing it and letting it expired will encourage them to pay the additional late fees?...Read More
