About Eric Penley
Eric Penley is a member of Preti Flaherty’s Litigation, Construction, and Environmental Practice Groups and is based in the firm’s Boston office.

As a member of the firm’s Construction Group, Eric advises and represents general contractors and subcontractors, including in high-stakes disputes before courts and arbitrators. He is a seasoned litigator and negotiator, regularly achieving successful outcomes for clients involved in business, financial services, and real estate disputes. In addition, Eric is an indispensable contributor to the firm’s defense of environmental claims regarding the Passaic River in New Jersey and the Penobscot River in Maine—two of the largest and most complex environmental cleanup matters being litigated nationwide.

Prior to joining Preti Flaherty, Eric built his advocacy, communication, and negotiation skills at WilmerHale in Boston, where he advocated for prominent clients in litigation and government enforcement matters that frequently appeared on the front pages of the New York Times and Wall Street Journal.

He graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Bowdoin College with a double major in Government & Legal Studies and Spanish and went on to earn his law degree at the University of Virginia, where he was the Articles Editor of the Virginia Law & Business Review.
