T. Allen Mott represents businesses, condominium associations, and developers in litigation and transactional matters. Mr. Mott is perhaps best known for handling protracted multi-party lawsuits, frequently on behalf of condominium associations against developers for construction defects. As a trial attorney, Mr. Mott recently lead the Cowie & Mott litigation team in achieving one of the largest jury verdicts ever awarded in Maryland against a national builder for construction defects in a residential condominium development.
On the transactional side, Mr. Mott has represented developers in a variety of matters, including land acquisition, financing, leasing, loan workouts and corporate structuring. Mr. Mott has served as counsel in large scale apartment to condominium conversion projects. Apart from construction and real estate, Mr. Mott has served as counsel to businesses in transactional matters and complex disputes involving officer and director liability, shareholder and partnership disputes, business fraud, toxic tort, legal malpractice, and unfair competition. In addition to representing developers, Mr. Mott has represented faith-based organizations in the acquisition, funding and construction of church construction and renovation/expansion projects.
