Step 1: Send Preliminary Notice on All Projects
Some states require preliminary notices, and some states do not. However, this should not matter – the indisputable industry best practice is to send preliminary notice on all of your projects, even if it’s not required. Construction companies that send preliminary notices get paid faster and avoid payment issues, which results in having to file fewer liens.
